which focuses on using communication and media to make a difference.

Through this website I wish to strengthen links with my networks, partners and clients.   I am a senior development and communication consultant and have worked over the past 25 years in 50 countries and with more than 200 development projects and programmes.   Poverty reduction, improved livelihood and empowerment among those who need it most, are the impacts I help achieve, through support to the effective organisation of development interventions with a clear, strategic direction towards the desired results.    Media development, communication for development & empowerment, press freedom and gender are my specific areas of expertise. In these I work with policy formulation, elaboration of strategic plans and conceptual frameworks for effective development solutions, formulation of development programmes within a results-based framework, evaluations and impact assessments. I take on a wide fan of advisory and coach functions as required to drive development processes meaningfully forward.   Always ensuring a solid anchorage in and understanding of the relevant local context, I work with partners to identify the most effective way of designing development strategies and concrete step-by-step work plans building on existing capacity and experience. Many years of field experience have shown me that a strong local ownership of plans and action is what pays off in the end. It takes time, yes, but the resulting empowerment is what creates real long-lasting and sustainable development.
